What is Glam Metal Music?
Glam Metal Music is yet another subdivision of heavy metal music which was heavily influenced by the Glam Rock of the 1970’s – in fact Glam Metal is a kind of mixture of heavy metal, hard rock and pop music, with lots of make-up and hairspray thrown in, especially for the stage performances. It had its day predominantly in the 1980’s, and as soon as grunge arrived in the 90’s it fell into decline, however, several of the popular glam metal groups of the 80’s have survived and seen a real resurgence in their popularity over the last few years.
Representative Glam Metal Musicians
Glam Metal Musicians which pretty much started the whole movement include groups such as Aerosmith and Bon Jovi, both of which have survived to this present day (well, not sure whether Steve Tyler would agree with me there!) Others like Alice Cooper played their part too, along with Def Leppard and, more recently, The Darkness. Funnily enough, Ozzy Osbourne has also been included in this genre, well, between about ’85 and ’92 anyway.
