What is Nu Metal Music?
Nu Metal music is also known as Aggro music, so that should give you a clue about what we’re on about here. It’s another sub genre of heavy metal music, combining heavy metal with other stuff like hip hop and grunge, as well as industrial rock, hardcore punk, post punk and gothic rock. It emerged towards mainstream success towards the end of the 1990’s and into the early 2000’s, due partly, some might say, to the success in 1995 of Ozzy Osbourne on MTV and the birth of Ozzfest. Heavy metal, and it’s many sub genres became firmly re-established in mainstream media viewing.
