What is New Wave Music?

Representative New Wave Musicians
New Wave as a description of a type of music was used to describe The Boomtown Rats in 1976 and since then was used to describe just about all mainstream music of the era! In America it was firstly regarded as a description of British music, but pretty soon they adopted the term because they didn’t like “punk” and thought it was just a phase. The list of representative new wave musicians is like a “who’s who?” of the times, including many groups and artists like Elvis Costello, Blondie, Talking Heads, The Runaways, Dr Feelgood.
There are just so many to choose from . . . .
Blondie did loads of great music, but I do think this was one of the very best, don’t you?
Well really Sir Bob, who does?
Don’t go then, it’s as simple as that.
